What about Halloween?

by Harley Pinon

I am not an expert on Halloween. Having said that, I do want to say that I have very real concern about Halloween.  Consider the connection between death and the devil.  Now consider Halloween: skeletons, ghosts, witches, devils, monsters, blood, the grim reaper, grave stones with RIP, and the list goes on.  God is not about death.  Jesus said, "The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly." (John 10:10 NKJV)  In Christ, there is life, joy and happiness. Since I must depend on others to tell the story of Halloween, I am simply going to direct you to a rather lengthy but well written article on Halloween.

I only have one disagreement with the article to which I am going to suggest you read.  It concludes with what I call a "sinner's prayer" for salvation.  It is basically a pretty good prayer, but I do not agree with the implication that this is how we obtain our salvation.  For that, I refer you to my article, How Dose One Become a Christian?

With that exception, I find this article to be well written, and I trust you will find it very interesting, thought provoking and challenging.  I think all Christians need to think seriously about Halloween, and the occult.  So here is a link to a very good article entitled: Halloween

with some added detail, The Dark Side of Halloween
