WE LONG TO DEPART

Inspired by Philippians 1:21-24

 

We long to depart to be with our Lord

He reigns from His throne in heaven above

His kingdom extends to all parts of the earth

He reigns in the hearts that have known the new birth

 

But while we remain in this world below

We’ll serve Him with zeal and make known His love

We must tell the world of Salvation in Him

Mankind’s only hope of salvation from sin

 

This world’s not our home, we’re just passing through

Our home is above beyond the azure blue

What bliss we will know, O what joy we will share

Together in heaven when we all get there
