To Stand the Test

The Devil accused Job before our great LORD,
And said that Job served God only for reward;
But Job's trial and suff'ring proved Satan was wrong
For through pain and losses Job's faith remained strong.

Abraham was also tested by the LORD -
Called to offer Isaac, though it was so hard.
As those men of faith could see beyond their tears,
Look on beyond today, for our victory nears.

Though hardship and sorrow may be really grave,
The LORD bids us trust Him in faith and be brave.
In testings and trials, our faith can be strong,
For God holds us close, and His strength conquers wrong.

God says in His word that His children are dear,
And since He's there for us, we need never fear;
For even if death comes as part of our test,
It's only in God that we find peace and rest.
