Some problems I have with Trinitarian Doctrine.
By Harley Pinon
It would have been much easier to have stayed a believer in the Trinity as far as getting along with the brethren, but there are just some things that I have trouble getting to make sense.
I guess basically, I just look at the expression, "God in three persons," and I ask, how can that be? How can you have three distinct individuals, and still just have one God?
The other question that I pose is how can Christ be begotten and be eternal? If he isn't eternal, how can He be fully God? These are questions that are a very real concern to me.
Then I put this with the fact that I cannot find a single statement where Jesus, or even the Pharisees claimed that He was claiming to be God. In Luke 22:70-71 NKJV, we read, 'Then they all said, "Are You then the Son of God?" So He said to them, "You rightly say that I am." {71} And they said, "What further testimony do we need? For we have heard it ourselves from His own mouth."' What was the charge of blasphemy based on? It was based on His being the "Son of God." I am in hearty agreement with that statement, but to say that He is fully God as God the Father is fully God, I cannot find to be supported by scripture.
Just some thoughts. Please consider my other articles on this site, as well as those written by my wife. We have also provided links to other sites which provide the view of other men including restoration movement leaders.
