Restored to God

The love of God, how can it be

That God's own Son did die for me,

And not just me, but all mankind

That in His death we all may find

The love and hope and faith and trust

To rescue us from greed and lust -

Those things that brought about the fall

For which God had a plan for all

Who come to Him and seek His way

That we might come to that great day

When everything will be made new,

Restored to God in glory, too!

Will we accept God's gracious love

And thankfully send praise above

For giving us the matchless grace

Of His own Son who took our place

Upon the cross, no sin His own,

To suffer there and to atone,

To make us clean from all our mess

And give us His own righteousness?

He bore the sin that kept us down.

He then replaced it with a crown

Of righteousness and joy and peace -

What sweet release, what sweet release!
