My Old Testament Study
My very first lesson of this study gives a bit of an overview of the Old Testament. It is a good place to begin.
If you simply want to continue my overview of the Old Testament, then the next logical lesson is part 2.
As the study was originally put together, the third lesson was taking Old Testament prophecies about Christ and showing where they were fulfilled in the New Testament. As far as continuing through the Old Testament, this lesson could be skipped and you could go on to lesson four. If you are interested in the prophecies and their fulfillment, then this is a partial list.
The study through the Old Testament continues with the fourth lesson:
The book of Psalms is obviously not exhaustively covered. This series is not intended to be exhaustive, but rather to hit some of the high lights. What is Hebrew poetry? What are some of the prophecies in the Psalms?
As stated above, this is not exhaustive. I touch briefly on what a proverb is, and some of the one that interest me most such as the ones on child rearing.
I find Ecclesiastes a very interesting book. It is written by Solomon, and I try to explain the significance of the expression "under the sun" as well as some of his description of old age and his conclusion of the whole matter.
I did not do a study of the book of Song of Solomon. It is a love song. The Hebrews viewed it as somewhat "X - rated." It does make comments about a woman's body, but I don't think my wife would be too charmed if I told her some of the things in the book.
The rest of my study is a study of prophecy, and I would refer you to my lessons on prophecy for further study. My Study of Prophecy or Lessons by Date Order I hope you find all of my comments to be worthwhile and an encouragement to you in your own study of the Bible.
