Longing for Heaven's Peace

To my loved ones, my piece of heaven on earth

Like gathering storm clouds in turbulent skies
Like gale tossed waves swelling high
We see the images on our screens
Our minds searching what all this means.

This angry, raging tumultuous crowd
With frantic fervidness enshrouds
The void that lies within, concealed,
For fear of what might be revealed.

What is repressed, so hidden there?
The constant smoldering despair
Caused by the lie they're forced to live,
Not knowing truth, nor to forgive.

The phantom god they venerate
Demands they kill, and maim, and hate,
So unlike the God we know
Who bids us love and kindness show.

Our God puts love and peace within
And wants mankind to be like Him
By offering all His truth and grace
That heaven on earth may have a place.
