Are You Teachable? 

Are you teachable?  Just what does that mean?

When you study God's word -  how do you lean?  --

Toward finding the proofs of what you believe,

Or do you dig deeper, new light to receive? 

Concerning those truths you've not known before,

Are you afraid to open that door? 

Do you fear that you'll find you might have been wrong

In things you've declared and held to so long? 

Are you up to a challenge - to see a new view?

Are you willing to take a journey into

Examining some doctrines, as found in God's truth,

Accepting what's said there, then searching for proof

That what you are seeing fits into God's plan,

Without having to twist it, like doctrines of man. 

So come take the challenge; examine the word

Don't cling to tradition; just follow the Lord. 

Stay true to the picture; trash things that don't fit.

Receive all the clear word – every last bit. 

Then you'll have the comfort of peace in your mind;

Things really make sense now; you're no longer blind. 

We've all come through darkness; we know what it's like;

So give up confusion; just follow the light. 

And then in the future, when comes our dear Lord,

We'll really know all things, even things never heard.
